The Rising Phoenix Wolf Pack is a spirit wolfpack. The pack is of family and friends as both wolf and human alike. We enjoy wolfing in our clearing as an expression of our wolven spirit. "Wolfing" is a term used to describe wolf "roleplay". However, we do not consider ourselves roleplayers -instead our wolves are an extension of our inner selves, our animal spirit.

The Rising Phoenix WolfPack is based on the Mexican gray wolf. The Mexican gray wolf is the smallest, rarest, and southern-most occurring wolf in the United States. Once numbering in the thousands, Mexican wolves were eliminated from the U.S. landscape by 1970. Mexican wolves once ranged across New Mexico, Arizona, west Texas, northern Mexico, and possibly as far north as southern Utah and Colorado. In our wolfing, the Rising Phoenix WolfPack is named one of the first Mexican wolfpacks living in the Colorado area since their eradication. We are strong advocates of wolf reintroduction and protection efforts and support the efforts of many non-profit organizations such as International Wolf Center and Defenders of Wildlife in educating the public about wolves.

As Kyara and Lykaios continue to develop their wolven spirits, we strive to keep the actions within the clearing as close to natural as possible. We welcome newcomers and ask those who visit our home to respect the way of the wolf.
